Big Bend Florida Chapter of ITE (BBFCITE) is the Big Bend Chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. As an ITE Chapter, BBFCITE promotes professional development of its members and serves as a conduit for the exchange of professional information. The Chapter has 35 members and is looking to grow. A membership fee of $10 per year is collected from each member in January toward Chapter activities. BBFCITE organizes regular lunch meetings, golf tournament, bowling tournament and a book scholarship event.
The Big Bend Florida Chapter was granted its original Charter by the Florida Section of ITE Executive Board on November 2, 1994. The Charter became effective on January 1, 1995. The Founding Members of BBFCITE were Tom Brock and Dave Muntean. All ITE members and transportation professionals within Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, Wakulla and Washington Counties of the State of Florida are eligible to become BBFCITE Members.
Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE)
Founded in 1930, ITE is a community of transportation professionals including, but not limited to transportation engineers, transportation planners, consultants, educators and researchers. Through meetings, seminars, publications, and a network of nearly 17,000 members working in more than 90 countries, ITE is your source for expertise, knowledge and ideas. ITE is organized into districts, sections, and chapters. ITE has more than 80 local and regional chapters and more than 140 student chapters that provide additional opportunities for information exchange, participation and networking.
Florida Section of ITE
Florida Section of ITE is a part of Florida District and caters specifically to the transportation professionals in Florida. The Section holds three meetings annually – Winter Workshop (February), Summer Meeting (June) and Annual Meeting (November). Eight local chapters as well as six student chapters are associated with the Florida Section.
